As a turnkey telecommunications contractor, VTC provides field surveying, design & engineering, construction and maintenance services. We are an approved vendor for many of the major industry providers of CATV, ODAS/Small Cell, and IDAS/Venue. VTC Design Group’s primary objectives are to successfully research, bid, engineer, permit, and construct telecommunications projects throughout the US. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, provision and document OSP Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried) and manhole and conduit design
  • Plan and prepare drawings for the construction of new and removal or rearrangement of existing fiber optic cable and conduits
  • Complete drafting and design in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines
  • Develop task coding based on the fiber design and splicing information provided
  • Add facility addresses to terminals
  • Create and print reports for Quality Control check
  • Post poles, fiber cables and terminals based off of AT&T specifications
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Proven 2 year(s): Aerial and Buried OSP Engineering drafting experience
  • Proven 2 year(s): Aramis drafting
  • Proven 2 year(s): OCALC experience
  • FlexNap cable design experience
  • Telecom CLEC design experience

Skills and Knowledge for a Successful Candidate:

  • Proficiency with 3GIS, NDS, Microstation, and/or AutoCAD is preferred
  • Proficiency with ARAMIS is required along with formal ARAMIS training
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and preferably one or more of the other resource tools previously listed
  • Qualified to operate, access, and maintain applicable software applications
  • Capable of providing high productivity and quality workmanship while remaining detail-oriented
  • Adept at fully understanding and following advanced oral and written instructions
  • Exercise competent judgment and initiative in executing his or her responsibilities
  • Display excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Provides support to Customer in tracking production activities and goals
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, and budgets as required
  • Efficiently research, troubleshoot and provide solutions to job-related items
  • Provide recommendations/suggestions for quality improvement and work efficiencies
  • Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed and contribute to company strategies and plans
  • Willing to expand your knowledge, be challenged and grow in a dynamic and upward trending environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to think pro-actively with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
